Merger and Acquisitions

  • Acted for a leading Taiwan-based private equity fund in acquiring a 100% stake in one of the largest Taiwanese cable television groups from a flagship Korean private equity fund, with a deal value of approximately US$ 1.7 billion
  • Acted for a consortium comprised of the controlling shareholder and a global private equity firm in its approx. US$ 930 million privatization of a TPEx-listed and Cayman Islands-incorporated company, the largest contact lens manufacturer and distributor in China.
  • Acted for a leading Taiwan-based private equity fund, in its approx. US$ 410 million privatization of a TPEx-listed and Cayman Islands-incorporated fabless semiconductor company.
  • Acted for a consortium comprised of the management and the controlling shareholder in its approx. US$ 280 million privatization of a NASDAQ and TPEx dual-listed biotech company.
  • Acted for Canadian national pension fund in its acquisition of a minority stake in an offshore wind farm project from a leading European energy group.
  • Acted for a leading Taiwan-based private equity fund in its sale of minority stake in a leading fabless semiconductor company to a prominent sovereign wealth fund with a deal value of approx. US$ 100 million.
  • Acted for a leading Taiwanese integrated circuit design company in its pre-IPO restructuring, including issue of Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
  • Acted for an investors consortium in handling financial regulatory disputes arising out of public-market hostile takeover

Capital Markets and Private Equity

  • Acted for a prominent Japanese financial group in its series issuance and listing of Formosa bonds with an aggregate amount of US$ 1.74 billion in Taiwan.
  • Acted for a leading Taiwan-based private equity fund, in its series of fundraising, amounting to approx. US$770 million, from leading Taiwanese financial institutional investors and a leading charitable trust with the largest assets under management in Taiwan.
